About
Empowering all bodies // Move for Mental Health
Hello, i’m Polly Macfarlane, i’m a Glasgow based Level 3 Personal Trainer with over a decade’s worth of teaching experience.
My past work experience as a professional Hula Hoop Artist has taken me all kinds of interesting places, I graduated from Goldsmiths University of London with a degree in Drama & Theatre Arts, and went on to create a one-woman Hula Hoop show which toured the UK, was seen by international audiences in Dubai, Germany & Italy. I held Cabaret residencies In London, Brighton, and Scotland, as well as touring Theatres including the Hammersmith Apollo and the Edinburgh Playhouse.
My experience as a Hoop Artist enabled me to witness how much physical skill and movement can benefit the mind and body, how it adds creativity, joy and better health outcomes in peoples lives.
It was because of this passion that I became a qualified Personal Trainer and began cultivating my own business to support and help people build strength, new skills and a healthier habit’s.
What is integral to my work as a Personal Trainer is that you as the client, always feel empowered. An anti-diet culture approach underpins my work with clients. Goals such as mental health improvement, hiking the west highland way, increased functional strength for everyday life are encouraged more than a weight loss goal.
I bring a mindful and gentle ethos to my sessions, whilst simultaneously challenging clients towards achieving their goals.
